Team F5 has partially been in existence for several years under a different name.  The team started when Tornado Alley Paintball out of El Dorado, KS hosted their first Toys for Tots charity event in 2003.  It was during this time that Tornado Alley Paintball manager; George Scott became close friends with U.S. Marine Sgt. James Bray, who at that time was the Toys for Tots coordinator. Bray became a regular at Tornado Alley Paintball and became quite involved.  His love for the sport of Paintball led him to invite other U.S. Marines and over time the servicemen formed a competitive paintball team known as "A Few Good Men"

During the 2003 Tournament Season, A Few Good Men competed mostly in local tournaments hosted by Tornado Alley.  Throughout the course of the season, some of the original U.S. Marines who started the team were forced to leave the team due to re-assignment.  Other players who were not U.S. Marines were invited to the team in order to fill the roster. In 2005 the team grew even more when "A Few Good Kids" were formed in an attempt to have a team compete in “Young Gun” events.

Towards the end of the 2005 Tournament Season, Sgt. Bray fulfilled his service and retired from the military.  It was also around the same time that the last of the remaining few Marines were re-assigned to different bases across America.  It was agreed by the current team members that the name, A Few Good Men and A Few Good Kids was no longer appropriate.  Several names were proposed and after a vote, the name F5 was adopted as a way to show respect for the team’s primary sponsor: Tornado Alley Paintball.
